Mikhail SELISHCHEV (1962) is a Russian freelance artist working in techniques of enamel art. He opened the “Khors” House of Art in 1995. Since 1997 Mikhail holds the annual Symposiums on Enamel Art in Rostov the Great. His works were successfully exhibited in Russia and abroad. Mikhail regularly takes part in art symposiums in Russia, Hungary, Germany.

Creative Work

The artist has moved to Rostov the Great because this ancient Russian town is famous for its Russian tradition of miniature on enamel (or ‘finift’, as it named in Russia).

Applying the art of the past, Mikhail Selishchev creates quite new works of art that require more space and interior. He uses different materials like wood, metal, stone in combination with enamel. It gives new fresh breath to his works and opens new sides of art techniques.

The personal art gallery of Mikhail Selishchev is placed on the second floor of the “Khors” House of Art that is situated on the shore of Nero lake in Rostov the Great near the State Museum “Rostov Kremlin”. The art gallery of the artist is his studio as well. It was opened in July 1995. There was a lot of visitors who appreciated the beauty of enamel art.

Mikhail Selishchev holds annual international Symposiums on Enamel Art in Rostov the Great and takes part in symposiums and actions abroad as well. The artist exhibits his works in many countries. He travels a lot.

The works of Mikhail Selishchev are in museums of Khabarovsk, Kaliningrad, Aleksandrov, Rostov, Moscow, Plyos, Salou (Spain), Kecskemét (Hungary), Mandersheid (Germany) and in private collections in Russia and abroad.
